MC MARBLE TRAY
Year: 2026 · collab with Pippo Easter & Davide Menapace · Material: Carrara marble
A collaborative project developed with Pippo Easter and marble craftsman Davide Menapace, entirely produced in genuine Carrara marble. The project reinterprets the iconic disposable McDonald’s tray and transforms it into a permanent luxury object made from one of the most historically valuable materials in Italian craftsmanship.
Beyond the material transformation, the project also completely changes the tray’s original function. The object was redesigned as a smoking tray, where every element takes on a new purpose: the fries container becomes a holder for lighters and rolling papers, the burger box functions as both mixing tray and ashtray, and the drink cup becomes an integrated accessory container.
By translating fast-food culture into sculptural marble craftsmanship, MC MARBLE TRAY creates a contrast between disposable consumer culture and permanence, irony and luxury, mass production and artisanal work.
