CHECKMATE CHESSBOARD

Year: 2025 · collab with Fomo Studios · Material: Wood and 3D printed

A collectible chessboard created in collaboration with Fomo Studios, designed as a reinterpretation of American culture through luxury objects and contemporary symbolism.

The chessboard structure is crafted from wood and finished with Tiffany blue and rose gold lacquered surfaces, creating a strong contrast between elegance and pop-inspired aesthetics. Each chess piece was individually developed through high-detail 3D powder printing and hand-lacquered to achieve a sculptural metallic finish.

The pieces reinterpret iconic American symbols and figures, including Donald Trump, the Statue of Liberty, the Wall Street Bull, Kanye West and the Empire State Building. Rather than following traditional chess iconography, every element was redesigned to transform the game into a collectible narrative object where politics, celebrity culture, architecture and finance coexist on the same board.

CHECKMATE merges strategic gameplay, satire and collectible design into a contemporary art object.
